 Parece que nuestro viaje va a ser así, puro kilometraje sin parar. Bueno, por fin salimos de México, justo el último dia en que nuestros visados nos permitían estar aquí. Después de mucho conducir, llegamos a este bello lugar guatemalteco que se llama Lago de Atitlán. Un lago rodeado de volcanes y montañas, donde gente guapísima hace su dia a dia, y sobre todo, inundado de colores por todas partes. Niños que te venden todo pero te regalan sonrisas y carcajadas en todo momento. Ancianitas cargando gallinas en sus brazos y unos bultos más grandes que ellas en sus cabezas. Señores vistiendo esos llamativos trajes. Fotos, videos....nada se asemeja a lo que es ver esto en persona, vivirlo, escucharlo, y sobre todo sentirlo. Panajachel es uno de los pueblos que rodea el lago, probablemente el más famoso y turístico de todos. Nos tocó en fin de semana y del largo, por ser el 1 de Mayo, dia del trabador, así que mucho turismo, sobre todo de la ciudad de Guatemala, que solo esta a unas dos horas de aquí. Nosotros mientras, pues también trabajamos un rato. Nos tendemos, pero la verdad es que este lugar es un poco difícil para vender. Todo es demasiado barato y hasta el turista con dólares intenta estrujarnos lo máximo que puede. Aún así, hay mucho artesano, sobre todo el que ya se quedo aquí por un rato largo. Cuesta salirse cuando se está rodeado de tanta hermosura.Después de un dia de entrevistas, decidimos que mañana nos vamos a hacer la vuelta al lago y a visitar esos otros pueblos mágicos que hay por acá. Después, de vuelta para méxico. Talismán, no desesperes, allá vamos.  

It seems like our trip it’s just gonna be like this: pure driving with non-stop. Well, finally, we left mexico. Our visas (mine and bantam’s) expired on the 26^th of april…6 months already, where did they go???? Anyway, after lots of driving, we got to this beautiful Guatemalan place called Lago de Atitlán. A lake surrounded by volcanos, mountains, lots of beautiful people, and mostly, lots of colors all over the place. Kids that sell you everything but give you smiles and laughers all the time. Elder women carrying chickens on their arms and big bags full of who knows what, on their heads. Men dressing up with those colorful outfits. Photos, videos…nothing gets close to what you can see, live, listen to, and mostly, feel, once you are here. Panajachel is one of the towns that surrounds the lake. Probably, the most famous and touristic one. We made it here right before the 3-day-weekend. Labor day. Today. So, lots of tourism, mostly from Guatemala City, which is only 2 hours away from here.Meanwhile, honoring the day, we have worked quite a lot. We’ve tried to sell some of our stuff, but the reality is that this town it’s quite difficult for that. Everything is too cheap and even the American tourist wants to bargain as much as he can. Still, there are lots of artisans, mostly the ones that have decided to stay here for a looooong time. It’s hard to leave such a beautiful place.After a day of pure interviews, we’ve decided to do the touristic thing tomorrow. We are taking the boat around the lake, and visit those other beautiful towns. After that, we are going back to Mexico. Don’t worry Talisman, we are on our way…..
