La neta que la cara de gringos no nos la quita nadie. No importa de donde seas y de donde vienes, aquí todos somos gringos. Los niños nos dicen: ‘gringo, compra si’. Nosotros contestamos: ‘compra no, nosotros no somos gringos’. Pero no es cierto.Hasta ahí bien. Hoy cruzamos la frontera de México a Guatemala. Tuve un flashback de Marruecos. Un montón de gente queriendo ‘ayudarte’ a hacer todo el papeleo necesario para los visados. Nosotros, que ya nos lo conocemos un poco, preferimos hacerlo todo por nuestra cuenta, pero claro, siempre alguno que otro te arrastra a algún que otro lugar dónde se supone que te lo hacen todo más rápido, y siempre mejor, que si lo haces tú por su cuenta. Así que en uno de esos lugares nos dicen que el visado de la Bantam nos va a costar 80 DOLORES. Y yo les pregunto: ¿de verás se creen que somos tan estúpidos? Ahí nos escapamos y nos vamos solitos a la oficina de inmigración de vehículos. ’41 Quetzales’ me dicen, o lo que es lo mismo, 5.46 dólares. ASI SI!Por cierto, ¿ya saben de dónde viene lo de gringo? Pues parece ser que cuando los americanos entraron a México, como iban vestidos de verde, los méxicanos les decían: ‘green, go! (verde, vete)’. So yeah, we do have a gringo face.
